Dee learnt trumpet at the age of 11 and stopped playing for a while after leaving school.
Dee took up playing again at the age of 23 when she joined Epsom & Ewell on 3rd cornet and played with them for 8 years the last 2 of which were on 2nd Baritone.
After a move to Essex, Dee joined Southend Band and had a short spell on Baritone. Her playing took a backseat when she became a mother.
After a couple of years break Dee moved to Kent and joined Faversham Brass on Baritone and then Euphonium. After a very happy time there Dee moved band again, this time to join Snowdown Colliery Welfare Band on Euphonium as she wished to be part of a contesting band. Dee has been Snowdown since then.
